⚠️ Don't follow me (or any man for that matter) - a cautionary tale

Published: Mon, 07/27/20

I just saw this post in the Forum.

"Good morning fellow eagles.
Please help me pray against madness and premature death in my life.
For a while I stopped following elisha prayers and started following a prophet who is very famous.

The devil lied to me that I had graduated from elisha goodman and asked me to say bye to Elisha
Then I later realized it was a trap from the enemy. Therefore please stand with me in prayer ..."

Let me say it here:

I do NOT advise anyone to follow me at all.

What I'm trying to do is point you to the Lord Jesus.

That's the One to follow.

Not me.

Not any man.

(Reason why you don't see my pictures plastered all over the place).

Hint: It is wise to be like the Berean Christians.

We meet them in Acts 17:11.

As Apostle Paul shared the gospel with them, here's what happened.

"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind,
and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."

See what they did here?

They received the teachings but at home they diligently studied the Scriptures by themselves ...

... to confirm that what they were hearing was the truth.

And they were commended for it.

Today, one of the surest ways of identifying a false prophet is by subjecting their teachings to the sunlight of Scripture.

What did the Apostle John (the one who leaned on the Lord's breast at the last supper) say?

"Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world."

Translation:

Most of the "prophets" parading around today are fake, period.

Follow them at your own risk.

I'll leave it there.

A word, they say, is enough for the wise.

Be An Overcomer
