*** When the problem requires MORE than prayer ***

There are problems that need your prayers
to go hand in hand with anointed counselling.
This type of counselling goes beyond the feel-good,
garden variety kind that you hear all over the place.
That's what's going on round-the-clock in the Forum.
Here's a great example I like to use ...
pulled from an ongoing conversation on marital distress.

Eagle #1 Asks:
l have reached a point in my life where l don't know what to do.
My marriage is hell. My husband does not love me. He seems irritated with me.
l feel very lonely. Is this the will of God for my marriage? What is the purpose
of such a marriage when there is no love, no caring, no relationship
as husband and wife? My husband is a very arrogant person.
l am suffering.
Eagle #2 Responds:
A woman must be humble. If your husband is arrogant, please conquer it with humility. Dedicate yourself to him. Let him notice a change in you. Things that you have never done for him, start doing them from today. Submit to him. When he starts shouting where you haven't gone wrong, don't shout or answer back, rather be on your knees and apologise earnestly to him.
When he mistreats you, make the best dish for him. I know of a woman where this down to earth humility brought the husband and his friends to Jesus. On the other hand, prayer is key. Don't get tired, continue praying for him to change. Pray for affection to come back in your marriage. Fast for your husband. You can also join marriage restoration programs that the coach announces all the time.
May God work through your marriage and bring peace that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus name.

What Eagle #2 is saying here is the plain truth.
She tells her what she would not hear in most marriage counselling
programs out there. Yet, this is the biblical position.
Then Eagle #2 concludes her little session with strong, targeted intercessory prayer.
this is a tried and tested blueprint for victory - in every area of life.
Personally I believe that Christians are better served
when they are exposed to the unvarnished truth.
No sugarcoating.
No political correctness.

No matter how many years you’ve been in the faith,
or how prayerful you may be… occasionally
you may feel weak and discouraged …
When the enemy continues to bombard you with his
fiery darts and arrows day and night.
At such times, you need a sharp shooting, confidential,
spiritual support group of tried-and-true prayer warriors
to share godly counsel/wisdom while at the same time
taking up a holy cry unto the LORD on your behalf.
I cannot stress this enough.
We all need people around us who are unafraid to tell us the whole
truth (but with love)... while also standing in the gap for us day
and night.
Both must go hand in hand.
James 5:16 says:
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another,
that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous
man avails much.
