Avoidable Mistake #3 - As Promised

Published: Thu, 02/16/17

Two days ago I sent out an email
with the subject line:

How can I surprise you today?

In it I said that if you'll just spare
2 minutes to read the email, it could save
you a bucketful of tears and prayers.

I went on to explain that there are 3 avoidable mistakes
that even experienced prayer eagles are still making.

The first 2 (given in the email) were:

#1 - Sharing testimonies prematurely - before
they are even complete.

#2 - Unwittingly reporting themselves to the enemy
(by blabbing on about what God is doing in their lives
to their household enemies and frenemies).

The response was overwhelming.

To many many people, this was a frightening
wake-up call.

Dorcas replied:
Thank you for such valuable information. I used to trust
people and most of my planned projects failed. My son actually died
after he had told relatives of a very good job offer which was going
to elevate him financially and raise his status quo.
I have learnt the hard way.

You have really surprised me. This mail is directly concerning me
and clearly tell myself SHAME ON ME I shared my testimonies prematurely
oooh Lord have mercy on me.

Racquel added:
Exactly what  happened to me in the church I used to go to.
One pastor forced me to testify about my full blessing.
My life after that day was a mess until I finally left that church.

I joined the Prayer Academy and other programmes over the years.
One thing I prayed for more than the other things is my permit to live
with my husband in a foreign country. When I finally got the papers
I shared with everyone the good news not knowing the devil was waiting
around the corner.

With my permit in my passport I travelled back to my country to sort
out something so I had to fly to and from. On my way back at the airport
I just felt some funny feeling around me when I was in the queue for
immigration.

On getting to the counter I was told my permit was fake
and I was thrown into a cell at the airport for a night waiting to
be deported and I was deported the following morning after spending
a night in a prison like room.

Hundreds of tragic stories like these have hit my inbox since
that email went out...

... proving that many problems could easily have been
avoided if only God's people would learn to keep their mouth
shut.

James 3:6 says:

The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts
of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course
of one's life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. (NIV)

Which brings me to Mistake #3.

It is simply this:

#3 - Accepting defeat, and letting go without a fight.

Here's the thing.

With the same mouth, you can reverse and neutralize as much
as 90 percent of the self-inflicted problems in your life
right now.

(It might require up to 3 times the original effort, though).

However, you need to learn how to do this. And do it well.

Once you realize your mistake what should you do?

Do you just throw up your hands in despair and
then shuffle off ... to the next avoidable mistake?

That's NOT an option!

We're going to learn from 2 famous kings in the Bible.

One knew what to do but refused to do it.

The other not only knew what to do but went
ahead to do it.

Then to make thing crystal clear...

We'll bring this into the 21st century--

AND demonstrate using a common example,
one that half the people reading this can relate to.

[To be contd ... in a future email].

Be An Overcomer

Congratulations to the Eagles of the Sapphire Forum.

We will take the fight to the enemy ...
at the midnight hour.

We will never apologise, never explain,
never surrender.

Always attack.
