I visited South Africa for the first time
in August 2000. And what a trip that was.

The few hours drive from Johannesburg to Sun
City, the conference venue, was one of the
most memorable... miles and miles of beautiful,
rolling countryside.

Unknown to me at the time, Sun City is like the
Las Vegas of South Africa.

My hotel room at the magnificent edifice called
The Palace was directly below a suite permanently
reserved for Michael Jackson.

He used to stay there anytime he was in that part
of the world.

Well, I don't know what it is about this unique
geography... maybe because of its long drawn-out
fight for freedom, the Christians there seem to
understand a whole lot about spiritual things.

And they have the results to show for it.

Take for instance, this next praise report, just
like the one we shared recently is from... you
guessed it - South Africa.

What does it take to produce this kind of
results?

Please pay close attention for the next few minutes...
it could change your life.

"Interruption Prayers"

There's a wonam in the Bible by the name of Hannah. She
was barren. But she didn't want to stay barren. Most
likely she knew the scripture which says that NONE
shall be barren in the land (of Israel).

So she went into prayers. The way the Bible describes
it, she was praying with so much intensity and emotion
... even without making a sound, you could feel the
heat and passion when you looked at her mouth, moving
and working furiously as she prayed... pouring out
her soul to God.

To the extent the man of God thought she was drunk.

Didn't matter. She got the results she wanted.

The Lord answered that prayer. HE opened her womb and
she later gave birth to Samuel, one of Israel's greatest
prophets.

Here's a secret:

When you get to this level of praying, you command
heaven's attention... and the LORD dispatches His
angels to bring you answers.

Why am I telling you all this, ?

Because life is a battlefield. We all have 2 options:
fight or perish. There's no middle ground.

Nothing good comes on its own. You must fight to
get them.

David, the man after God's heart, understood this.

In Psalm 144:1 he says:

"Blessed be the Lord, my strength, who teaches my
hands to war, and my fingers to fight."

, please understand that as a "soldier of
Christ" there is a battle raging all the time and no one is
excused from fighting.

For some this battle may be raging in their:

-  marriage
-  finances
-  health
-  ministry
-  for the soul of their kids

For others, it may even be internal:

-  lust in the heart (some people have been captured
   by the wicked spirit of pornography)

-  pride and lack of humility (even spiritual pride)

-  low self-esteem or self-worth

-  depression and frustration eating deep into the soul

-  the grip of fear, etc

-  the root of bitterness, like cancer undetected,
   silently but surely eating away...

At this point, I can almost hear some people saying:

"Wait a minute, Elisha. I am so blessed... there's
nothing like you described in my life!"

Really?

Here's the acid test, then:

If our Lord Jesus were to return this very minute, will
you be confident enough to look Him the eye, expecting
to hear the words...

"Well done, you good and faithful servant, enter into
the joy of your Lord?"

In other words, are you sure you are fulfilling your
divine destiny?

Have you reached all those you should reach for Christ?

(I know I haven't... that's why I am up at 3.23a.m. on a
cold windy morning to write this to you.)

...Because if you cannot truly say you have completed
   (or at least doing your level best) the assignment HE
   put you here to do, then you have a battle to fight.

...Because there are invisible powers whose job it is
   to keep you and I from doing what God wants us to
   do... in the hope of preventing us from receiving
   our crown of glory.

The first step therefore is to recognize that there is
a battle going on.

The second step is to quickly learn "Interruption
Prayers".

What is "Interruption Prayer?"

It is the kind of praying that wages war against evil,
invisible powers of darkness.

Interruption prayer is what you use to pull down
strongholds, recover what the enemy has stolen from you;

praying to enforce the victory of Christ over the
negative circumstances the enemy throws at you.

When you see a Christian whose life suddenly and
mysteriously takes a downward spiral (like Job's
in the Bible), it should be obvious that something
has gone badly wrong in the spirit realm!

No one, repeat no one, is exempted from spiritual
combat. Not pastor, reverend, or layman.

Race, color, age, gender or distance does not excuse
anyone.

Everyone is involved, whether they realize it or not.

10 Spiritual Weapons

God has given us over 100 spiritual weapons in the
Bible. But most Christians are blissfully unaware of
them.

This ignorance is a terrible thing in the body of
Christ today. It is almost like a cancer eating away
at the spiritual fabric of the church.

Throw in pride, sexual sins and covetousness into
the mix, and you have a disaster waiting to
happen...

It has resulted in outright defeat and failure for
so many Christians... in the areas of finances,
marriages and ministry.

For a Christian bombarded on all sides by an avalanche
of debt, instead of sitting around helplessly, she
could go on the warpath and begin to pray like this:

"I reject every spirit of debt and bankruptcy; you
wicked spirit, be paralyzed now in the name of Jesus."

For those who find out that anytime their company is
downsizing, they are first to be laid off; or if they
are in business, they have nothing to show for years
of toil and sweat, they could pray:

"I reject every spirit of work and business failure in
my life; you spirit of the tail be paralyzed in the
name of Jesus."

For anyone whose marriage has been captured by the
enemy, instead of focusing on the wrong person (their
spouse) they could rise up with holy anger and pray
like this (at the midnight hour):

"spirit of marriage destruction assigned against my life,
loose your hold now in the name of Jesus."

Christians who learn to pray like this, plus learn how
to handle the weapons of "Interruption Prayer" I'm going
to show you now will, sooner or later, come out
victorious.

Good news, there's a pool of refreshing spring up ahead!

Here's a small sample of the weapons at your disposal:

- the name of Jesus (Phil 2:10, Prov 18:10)

- the blood of Jesus (Rev 12:11)

- the fire of the Holy Ghost (Matt 3:11-12)

- the word of God (Heb 4:12)

- the sword of God (Gen 27:40, Eph 6:17)

- the whirlwind (Hosea 8:7)

- the great earthquake (Matt 27:50-53)

- the seaquake (Jer 46:8)

- confusion (1 Sam 7:10)

- destroying storms (Isa 28:2)

In the ongoing Prayer Academy we're deploying at
least 50 of these little-known battle weapons...

and woe betide that power or spirit that refuses
to obey our command promptly!

How To Handle
=============

However, you need to train on how to handle these
spiritual weapons (they are not physical and you
may not be able to see them in operation).

You'll want to know how to handle them for maximum
impact and results.

It is no use putting a missile launcher in the hands
of a 5 year old. In fact it can be downright dangerous.

Here's how to ensure that when the time comes, you
will be able to step up to the plate with boldness,
skill and precision.

1 you must confirm that you are genuinely born again

2 you must thirst for spiritual knowledge (it's not
  just enough to be born again)

3 you must be teachable and be willing to be trained
  (no one knows it all)

4 you must run away from sin in any form (especially
  sexual sins).

5 you must learn to memorize scriptures (this is critical).

6 you must hunger for "genuine" baptism in the Holy Ghost.

7 you must be persistent. Be prepared to stay the course
  ... no matter how long it takes.
