Leave a cup of hot coffee in a room.
slowly, predictably — it cools.
Until it hits room temperature.
Engineers have a phrase for this:
Stable systems regress to the mean.
Left alone, nothing
improves.
Nothing rises.
Everything levels out…
slides back…
and settles at average.
Now here’s the part
you should not ignore:
The exact same pressure is applied to your spiritual life.
Culture pushes.
Routine pushes.
Fatigue pushes.
And yes — the devil pushes.
Sometimes quietly.
And unless you deliberately push back…
You cool off.
Not overnight.
Not dramatically.
Gradually.
That’s how the fire dies.
That’s how prayer turns mechanical.
That’s how momentum leaks away.
That’s how blessings quietly disappear.
Left alone, even sincere believers drift.
To average.
To room temperature.
What Scripture calls lukewarm.
And the consequences are terrible:
“Because you are lukewarm,
and neither cold nor
hot,
I will vomit you out of My mouth.”
— Revelation 3:15–16
Strong words.
Which brings me to this:
There is a kind of prayer
that takes you from room temperature back to hot.
Not casual prayer.
Push-back prayer.
Momentum-building
prayer.
Round 3 just kicked off.
- to restore the
fire
- to generate momentum again
