Miso asks:
"For what age is this, I got the sense that it may be for very young ones. My grandchild is already in upper primary school, Grade 8."
I forwarded the question to the author, Dr Ifeoma.
Here's her answer:
"Except for Strategy #1: Grab Them Young for Mathematics, the strategies are for all ages, including adult learners. I used all the other strategies for my children throughout elementary and secondary school.
For example, an 8-grade student who is struggling in math
can use the suggestions discussed in the subsection of Strategy #2 titled:
"Working With Older Children: Grades 7-12."
Encourage them to solve math problems below their current grade level—rewarding them for doing those correctly. Then, gradually increase the problems' difficulty until they reach their current grade level."
